Teacher Introduction

A Guide to Mind, Body & Breath Connection

Mia, like most, her self exploration through yoga started with developing an asana practice, first doing a yoga DVD at home in her living room many many moons ago. Her first hot class was at a Hot Yoga Wellness Studio and describes it as “Incredibly challenging, almost harrowing but in the end it was extremely gratifying. I discovered new sensations and muscles in my body and felt a rare moment of peace”. Since then, she only focused on her asana practice but it wasn’t until 2013 that lead Mia traveling alone on a plane to Rishikesh India to complete her 200hr Yoga Certification. Divulged in the true culture she studied at the Patanjali International Yoga Foundation in an ashram under Dr. Jitendra Das. Here he helped her uncover all the other elements that compose yoga as a whole. Since then she was inspired by other teachers she met along her journey and completed her 300hr certification in Semperviva Yoga Teacher College in 2016. Mia is trained in Yin, Restorative, Vinyasa and teaches Prenatal Yoga here at the studio. Her mission and intention in her classes is to help guide students to a mind, body and breath connection, discovering more about the true self in hopes to assist in removing the illusion of the ego. Her style of teaching is a nice balance between yin and yang, creating a safe open space, always incorporating meditation and switching up the asana postures challenging people of out of their comfort zones. Mia at the moment teaches very rarely and spends her off time meditating, making travel plans, studying anything of interest, writing and developing all natural daily remedies/recipes.
